Mysti's provides housing navigation, case management, Enhanced Care Management (ECM), Medi-Cal enrollment assistance, Community Supports through CalAIM, free phones and tablets through the Lifeline program, and social services support for adults and families in California.

What counties does Mysti's serve in California?

Mysti's currently serves six California counties: Los Angeles County, Monterey County, Santa Cruz County, Contra Costa County, Riverside County, and Merced County. Our mobile teams meet clients at shelters, hospitals, motels, and community sites.

What is CalAIM and how does it help me?

CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) is a statewide initiative that expands Medi-Cal to cover services like housing navigation, Enhanced Care Management, medically supportive food, and housing deposits. If you have Medi-Cal, you may qualify for these additional supports through Mysti's.

Do I need Medi-Cal to get help from Mysti's?

No. While many of our services are funded through Medi-Cal and CalAIM, we help all clients regardless of insurance status. Our case managers can also help you enroll in Medi-Cal if you qualify.

What is Enhanced Care Management (ECM)?

ECM is a CalAIM service that provides a dedicated care manager who coordinates all of your needs — housing, health care, mental health, substance use treatment, benefits, and more. It's available to Medi-Cal members who have complex needs like homelessness, chronic illness, or recent incarceration.

211 is California's free helpline connecting people to housing, food, healthcare, and social services. Call 2-1-1 from any phone, available 24/7, or visit 211ca.org to search by zip code.

🏥 Medi-Cal — Free Health Coverage + Housing Supports

Medi-Cal is California's free or low-cost health insurance for qualifying individuals. Under CalAIM, Medi-Cal now also covers housing navigation services, temporary housing, and moving assistance for eligible members. Apply at coveredca.com or through your county human services agency.

🏡 California Department of Housing — HCD Programs

The California HCD oversees multiple housing assistance programs for low-income residents, seniors, veterans, and families experiencing homelessness. Visit hcd.ca.gov for the full program directory.

🏘️ HUD Housing Assistance — Section 8 & Public Housing

HUD administers the Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) and public housing options. Find your local Public Housing Authority at hud.gov or ask your Mysti's case manager to connect you to the waitlist in your area.

🆘 Rapid Rehousing & Homeless Services — CoC Programs

California's Continuum of Care (CoC) programs provide rapid rehousing, transitional housing, and permanent supportive housing for individuals experiencing homelessness. Contact your local CoC through 211 or through HUD's CoC program locator at hud.gov/CoC.
