Mysti's currently serves six California counties: Los Angeles County, Monterey County, Santa Cruz County, Contra Costa County, Riverside County, and Merced County. Our mobile teams meet clients at shelters, hospitals, motels, and community sites.

What is CalAIM and how does it help me?

CalAIM (California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal) is a statewide initiative that expands Medi-Cal to cover services like housing navigation, Enhanced Care Management, medically supportive food, and housing deposits. If you have Medi-Cal, you may qualify for these additional supports through Mysti's.

Do I need Medi-Cal to get help from Mysti's?

No. While many of our services are funded through Medi-Cal and CalAIM, we help all clients regardless of insurance status. Our case managers can also help you enroll in Medi-Cal if you qualify.

What is Enhanced Care Management (ECM)?

ECM is a CalAIM service that provides a dedicated care manager who coordinates all of your needs — housing, health care, mental health, substance use treatment, benefits, and more. It's available to Medi-Cal members who have complex needs like homelessness, chronic illness, or recent incarceration.

We use your information to: process intake and referral requests, verify Medi-Cal eligibility and benefits, connect you with appropriate services and health plans, coordinate care with your Managed Care Plan (MCP), communicate with you about your services, and improve our programs. As a healthcare services provider operating under California's CalAIM program, we comply with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Protected Health Information (PHI) is handled, stored, and transmitted in accordance with HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules. We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your PHI. Our staff is trained on HIPAA compliance. Our intake forms use electronic signatures that are legally binding under the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (ESIGN Act, 15 U.S.C. § 7001) and the California Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (UETA, Cal. Civ. Code § 1633.1 et seq.). When you sign electronically, we record your typed name, the date and time, and your IP address as verification of your identity and intent.

5. Information Sharing

We may share your information with: your Medi-Cal Managed Care Plan for eligibility and enrollment purposes, healthcare providers involved in your care, government agencies as required by law (such as DHCS), and authorized staff and care team members. We will not share your information without your written authorization unless permitted or required by law.

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (SSL/TLS), access controls limiting data to authorized staff, secure storage systems, and regular security assessments.
